Ironheart Is Good
What the 'hate' won't tell you.

People love to hate, and I get it. Sometimes it can feel as if there isn’t good stuff to watch but if you can get past one or two prerequisites, you'll find there is good storytelling happening now. I just had to tell you that, Ironheart on Disney+ is a breath of fresh air. Dominique Thorne nails it as Riri Williams, bringing swagger, vulnerability, sharp comedic timing, and emotional depth in equal measure. Riri owns the suit and the stage.
Yes, there are those who call it “a bit of a mess” or “short on soul”, but plenty of us disagree. One passionate critic at the Nerdist called it “a culturally nuanced adventure that navigates socioeconomic strife, the loneliness of genius and grief, and MCU magic with loads of heart and wit”. I’d put that glowing praise right beside the people who stuck negative one-star reviews without even watching.
Plot-wise, the mix of street-level crime plus mystical elements, is truly compelling. Ironheart skillfully explores grief, ambition, ethical ambiguity, and loss, all while delivering sci-fi thrills. Riri’s inner conflict, especially around resurrecting her friend Natalie as an AI, hits emotionally without feeling forced. And it just feels right to see an iron suit being worked on. I love that stuff!

I think the pacing of the first three episodes is great! Critics said it started slow, but building momentum allowed the story room to breathe. Ironheart had time to grow into something meaningful
To me, Riri is her own hero. She’s not trying to be Tony Stark, and that’s exactly the point. She’s complex, flawed, brilliant, and real. And while some say the story didn’t always land, I see it as ambition, not failure.
So skip the noise.
If you're into MCU iron suit shenanigans while getting a different cultural side, then watch Ironheart. It's a great new chapter in the MCU that’s worth watching.
